Alone, Together: Futuring LA
Alone Together is a world inspired by isolation and collectiveness. These contrasting ideas can exist together with the ability of hyper-augmentation. In 2050, the environmental conditions are now greatly improved from where we were, some groups of people want to savor it all by themselves, and some desire to enjoy it with their loved ones.
What does this mean to architecture? With hyper-augmented reality, the physical appearance of our surroundings plays a secondary role in our eyes. We can alter and augment architecture to our liking. This technology could lead to hyper-minimalism in architecture. Physical elements will exist only to accommodate and define programs.
